Rev. Amy Miles

Rev.  Amy Timmons Miles was born and raised in Burlington, North Carolina.  She is the youngest daughter to Henry Timmons Jr. and the late Gloria P Timmons.  She is married to Rev. Irvin Miles.  Together they have four children Jonathan, Joseph, J’Lisa and Joshua.  She received her B.A. degree in Religion and Christian Counseling from Liberty University.


Amy preached her initial sermon, July 9, 2006.  Rev. Miles served as an Associate Minister at Ebenezer United Church of Christ under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Larry Covington.  Under his leadership she facilitated many small group studies as well as taught Christian Education Classes.  She has been a strong supporter of women and youth ministries. 


Rev. Miles performed many duties under the leadership of Rev. Dr. George Pass Sr. at St Matthews AME Church in Burlington.  She has organized and led conferences directed at proving women a place of freedom, worship, study and growth. 

Rev. Miles is the founder of Pursuing Wholeness Ministries.  A ministry devoted to encouraging, maturing, and the healing of God’s people. Because of her love for God and for His people she has promised to devote her time, gifts and resources to the kingdom of God.  Rev. Miles and her husband, Rev. Irvin Miles are the founders Immanuel Christian Center. 


Minister Miles is employed as a Commercial Accounts Manager with Fleszar Insurance Agency.  In her spare time, she likes to focus on her many hobbies; reading, movies, spending quality time with family and friends.


Minister Miles strives to aid the people of God by encouraging and inspiring them in their walk with Christ. Amy is in awe of the patience of God, realizing in her best effort she sometimes fall short.  She is often reminded of the faithfulness of God. 


Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”.
